I continue to be 100% committed to my campaign. I have spent the last two days considering my options for a recount. A recount for me is an affirmation of the results. It is imperative to me that every vote cast is counted, and this review will put a finer point on the results. There were 268 non-votes cast. As I looked at RSA 669:31c it articulates “If the difference between the vote cast for the applying candidate and a candidate declared elected is between 2 percent and 3 percent of the total votes cast, the fee...” The percentage in this race is 2.3%, given this percentage was significant enough to be written into the code, I believe I need to request a recount.
It is my responsibility to ensure that the count is accurate and with the recount every ballot will be examined and affirmed. I believe this is my duty to all those who supported me and to all residents who came out and voted.
